Rustem Umerov to be Ukraine's new Defence Minister after Zelenskyy fires Oleksii Reznikov

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the departure of the defence minister Oleksiy Reznikov, calling for "new approaches" a year and a half into Russia's invasion.

The announcement came hours after Ukraine fought off an attack by Russian drones in the southern Odesa region early yesterday that hit a Danube port on the border with NATO member Romania.

In his nightly televised address to the nation yesterday, Zelenskyy said that the minister will be relieved of his duties this week His removal comes in the wake of a number of corruption scandals involving Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense.

Infact, Zelensky’s promise to rid the government of corruption was one of the reasons behind his rapid ascent into power in 2019.

Now, Zelenskyy has nominated Rustem Umerov, the former people’s deputy of Ukraine, to become the new defense minister.

Zelensky Accepts Defeat to Putin? Top Commander Allegedly Ready to Surrender to Russia | Details

Ukraine’s top commander, Aleksandr Syrsky, is reportedly ready to lay down arms and capitulate to Russia, according to a claim made by a lawmaker from President Vladimir Zelensky’s party. The claim was made by MP Mariana Bezuglaya from the ‘Servant of the People’ party, who is also the deputy chair of the National Security, Defense, and Intelligence Committee. Syrsky, who became Ukraine’s highest-ranking general in early February, succeeded Valery Zaluzhny, the former general who oversaw last year’s unsuccessful attempts to repel Russian forces. Bezuglaya accused Syrsky and Zaluzhny of secretly colluding to prevent a Ukrainian victory, stating that the two generals belong to a “generals’ mafia” that is more interested in protecting their own privileges than in defeating Russia. #Zelensky #Putin #Ukraine #AleksandrSyrsky #Russia #Surrender #TopCommander #MilitaryConspiracy #ZelenskyGovernment #UkraineConflict #NationalSecurity #DefenseIntelligence #PoliticalTurmoil #InternalDivisions #RussianAggression #MilitaryStrategy ~PR.152~ED.103~HT.334~

US-India Relations at Stake: Biden Disturbed by Modi-Putin Visit During NATO Summit | Details Inside

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin has stirred concerns within the Biden administration, especially as it coincided with a major NATO summit in Washington. This visit, described as a strategic misstep by U.S. officials, complicates the optics for Washington as it seeks to isolate Russia and bolster support for Ukraine. Despite U.S. attempts to dissuade the timing of the meeting, Modi proceeded, emphasizing India's independent foreign policy stance. This incident underscores the complexities of the U.S.-India relationship, as the U.S. tries to strengthen its alliance with India to counter China's growing influence.
