Mark Dickey Rescued: US cave explorer extricated after 9 days from one of Turkey's deepest caves
A dramatic and complex international rescue operation to save an American man from one of Turkey’s deepest caves ended successfully on Tuesday – more than a week after after he fell seriously ill and became too frail to make his own way out.
An accomplished and experienced caver, Mark Dickey, 40 year of age, had been part of a research group on an exploration mission in the Morca Cave when he reportedly began suffering from gastrointestinal bleeding and lost three liters of blood.
He was part of an expedition that was exploring the Morca cave, which he entered on Aug.

Hamas has been planning to establish a covert base in Turkey and other terror cells to coordinate attacks against Israeli targets, including NATO members, according to a document captured by the IDF in Gaza, reported by The Times. The document, found in the home of a key Hamas leader’s chief of staff, outlines a strategy to create secret bases to bolster resistance forces and conduct intelligence and military operations. The plan includes targeted assassinations, sabotage of Israeli naval vessels, and kidnappings. The Turkish government, supportive of Hamas, labels it a "liberation group." President Erdogan has harshly criticised Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, stating his methods would make "Hitler jealous." Erdogan also announced that over 1,000 Hamas members are being treated in Turkish hospitals and expressed disappointment over Greece’s stance that Hamas is a terrorist organisation. Despite public support, Erdogan denies that Hamas conducts terrorist operations from Turkey.

Israel retaliates against Turkey's trade halt by limiting Turkish trade with the Palestinian Authority and seeking sanctions. The move, spurred by Turkey's bid to pressure Israel on Gaza, draws strong condemnation. Erdogan defends Turkey's actions, while Israel vows robust responses, straining relations further amid the ongoing conflict.

Turkey halts all trade with Israel due to ongoing violence against Palestinians in Gaza. The move follows previous export restrictions and aims to pressure Israel into facilitating humanitarian aid. Turkey pledges to rigorously implement the measures until the flow of aid to Gaza is ensured.
