Truss confesses to being ‘in a rush’ over economic policy
Liz Truss defends her economic policies of 2022, but admits to being “in a rush” during her short term as prime minister, insisting “it was important to take action”.
During a speech at the Institute For Government, the former PM insists she wanted to deliver “change” voted for by the electorate in 2016 and 2019 and “knew we had limited time”.

Gareth Southgate has resigned as manager of the England men’s national football team after almost eight years at the helm. It comes just two days after England’s defeat to Spain in the final of Euro 2024.
