France to End Military Presence and Withdraw Ambassador from Niger After Coup| Oneindia News
President Emmanuel Macron announced France's decision to withdraw its ambassador and terminate all military cooperation with Niger following the recent coup.
Macron stated, "France has decided to withdraw its ambassador.
In the coming hours, our ambassador and several diplomats will return to France." He also declared an end to military cooperation, with French troops gradually leaving in the months ahead.
The military junta, in power since July, expressed approval of this move.
The European Union came out of the first Trump presidency stronger and must continue to become more independent, the French president told his top diplomats.
