The Mayor of London says the Croydon community is "shocked, traumatised and heartbroken" by the death of 15-year-old Elianne Andam and that her family "will never be the same again".
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with her murder, but Sadiq Khan adds that given the community is feeling "scared", high-visibilty police officers will be present in and around Croydon, to give the public reassurance and places for them to report any concerns or incidents.

A man has appeared in court charged with two counts of murder after the discovery of human remains in suitcases in Bristol, and, at a flat in west London. 34-year-old Yostin Andres Mosquera appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates Court earlier today. Police have named the two victims as 62-year-old Albert Alfonso and 71 year old Paul Longworth who lived together at a flat in Shepherds Bush. The suspect had been staying with them. Gareth Southgate has resigned as manager of the England men’s national football team after almost eight years at the helm.
