'The Exorcist: Believer' is getting horrifying reviews, after Universal reportedly paid $400 million for the rights.

The movie scored only a 22 percent average from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

Now, It's hardly unusual for Exorcist films to leave critics unimpressed.

The franchise may have launched with the 1973 acclaimed classic, but none of its four previous sequels received much acclaim.
