Israel-Gaza War: Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt closed due to security, says U.S | Oneindia
The U.S State Department on Wednesday informed that the Rafah Border Crossing between Gaza and Egypt was closed because of a security circumstance.
The United States expects the Egypt-controlled crossing will be reopened at "regular intervals" so that aid can enter the Gaza Strip and foreign nationals can continue to depart, Vedant Patel, US State Department deputy spokesperson, said.
Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi issued a fiery warning, urging all Arab nations to arm every Palestinian in defense against what he calls the U.S.-enabled âgenocidal warâ on Gaza. He claims Washington is supplying Israel with weapons while turning a blind eye to mass civilian deaths, medical facility destruction, and Gaza's forced displacement. As Rafah faces encirclement, al-Houthi warns Egyptâs national security is at risk. The Houthis blame Arab regimes for past disarmament and call for immediate military support to Palestinian resistance groups. Israel, backed by the U.S., continues strikes across Gaza and Lebanon.
