The number of patients being diagnosed with cancer at an early stage in England has reached a record high. Nearly three in five patients are being diagnosed at stages one and two, when the cancer is easier to treat. The Government has announced new laws aimed at tackling people smugglers. Suspects could be subject to travel bans, social media blackouts and limits to accessing their finances under the measures announced by the Home Office.
