Iran police station attack: 11 police officers succumb to injuries in Sistan-Baluchistan | Oneindia
In a devastating incident overnight, at least 11 Iranian police officers lost their lives in a jihadist-claimed attack on a police station in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan.
The assailants are believed to be associated with the Sunni Muslim jihadist group Jaish al-Adl.
They engaged in a shootout with security forces, resulting in casualties on both sides.
Two separate attacks in Iran's Sistan and Balochistan province left six people dead, including an IRGC commander and two police officers. The attacks, claimed by Jaish al-Adl, targeted a group returning from a charity event and a police vehicle. The region, bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan, is a hotspot for clashes between Iranian forces and terrorists. Yet, this attack after Netanyahu’s death sparks tensions.
