ABC reports that actor Jonathan Majors has officially been dropped by Disney after being found guilty of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment.

.

In a split verdict, the actor was also acquitted of two counts of assault and aggravated harassment.

The decision by Disney, the parent company of Marvel, means that Majors will not make any future appearances as the Marvel villain Kang.

The charges against Majors stem from a March incident with Grace Jabbari, his girlfriend at the time.

The actor, who faces up to a year in prison for the two misdemeanor counts, is scheduled to be sentenced on February 6.

ABC reports that a prison sentence is unlikely for Majors, as he is a first-time offender.

The judge overseeing the case also renewed an order of protection, barring Majors from having any contact with Jabbari.

At the Manhattan D.A.’s Office, we are committed to centering survivors in all of our work, Alvin Bragg, Manhattan District Attorney, via ABC.

The evidence presented throughout this trial illustrated a cycle of psychological and emotional abuse, and escalating patterns of coercion far too common across the many intimate partner violence cases we see each and every day.

, Alvin Bragg, Manhattan District Attorney, via ABC.

Today, a jury determined that the pattern of abuse and coercion culminated with Mr. Majors assaulting and harassing his girlfriend.

We thank the jury for its service and the survivor for bravely telling her story despite having to relive her trauma on the stand, Alvin Bragg, Manhattan District Attorney, via ABC
