Ex-Post Office Boss Paula Vennells Hands Back CBE

The former head of the Post Office has handed back her CBE as the fallout from the Horizon IT scandal gathers momentum.

Paula Vennells was the chief executive of the company from 2012 to 2019, while the Post Office wrongly prosecuted hundreds of subpostmasters.

They were accused of false accounting, fraud and theft despite evidence the new Horizon computer system was faulty.

She says she will hand back her CBE with immediate effect.
