On January 18, Pakistan initiated military actions within Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province, a response to Iranian strikes against a jihadist group in Pakistan's Balochistan province the day before.
Pakistan's Foreign Office stated that a meticulously planned series of precision military strikes, under the operation name 'Marg Bar Sarmachar,' resulted in the elimination of several terrorists.
Following the strike, Pakistan's Foreign Office released a statement emphasising the brotherly relationship with Iran.
The events highlight the complex dynamics and security challenges in the region.
The Bannu military cantonment in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, located over 330 km east of Islamabad, came under a severe attack early on Monday (July 15). The assault, reportedly led by several suicide bombers, resulted in a prolonged gunbattle with security forces. The militant group Jaish Fursan-e-Muhammad, a faction of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) led by Hafiz Gul Bahadur, claimed responsibility for the attack. According to Pakistani state media, the incident began when the assailants attempted to breach the cantonment’s security perimeter with an explosive-laden vehicle.
