She's won nine Grammys and a lifetime achievement award.

Mitchell, who suffered a brain aneurysm in 2015, played her first show in over 20 years in June.

She had to re-learn "how to walk, talk and play guitar," BBC reports.

Upon receiving her lifetime achievement award at the Grammys in 2002.

Mitchell was called "one of the most important female recording artists of the rock era"... ... and "a powerful influence on all artists who embrace diversity, imagination and integrity," BBC reports.
