Jordan Attack: Kataib Hezbollah, Iran-backed group allegedly behind strike on US troops | Oneindia
On January 28, a tragic drone attack in Jordan claimed the lives of three members of the United States troops.
The U.S. has attributed the responsibility for this attack to the Iran-backed Iraqi militia Kataib Hezbollah.
Specialists Kennedy Ladon Sanders, 24, Breonna Alexsondria Moffett, 23, and Sergeant William Jerome Rivers, 46, lost their lives in the incident, while numerous others sustained injuries.
During a press briefing on Monday (Jan 29), Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh unequivocally pointed the finger at Iran, accusing the nation of enabling groups to carry out attacks against the United States.
Singh emphasised the role of Iran-backed militia Kataib Hezbollah in this particular incident, stating that the evidence suggests Iran's active involvement in supporting and facilitating groups that pose a threat to U.S. interests.
On July 7, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House for a private dinner, where they discussed a controversial proposal to relocate Palestinians from Gaza. The plan, dubbed the "free choice" initiative, suggests that Palestinians could choose to leave Gaza for other countries. Netanyahu emphasized that Israel and the U.S. are working with other nations to offer Palestinians a "better future." However, neighboring countries like Egypt and Jordan have firmly rejected the idea, citing concerns over regional stability and sovereignty. This proposal has sparked widespread criticism, with many viewing it as a form of ethnic cleansing disguised as a humanitarian solution.

Iran has unleashed its 14th wave of missile attacks on Israel, with dramatic video footage capturing the terrifying moment projectiles streak across the night sky toward Tel Aviv. The barrage marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict, following days of reciprocal strikes between the two regional rivals.
Eyewitness clips show multiple Iranian ballistic missiles arcing over Iraqi and Jordanian airspace before slamming into Israeli territory, triggering air raid sirens and explosions across major urban centers.

Four major Arab nations — Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, and Jordan — have strongly condemned Israel’s military strikes on Iran, labeling them as violations of sovereignty and international law. Riyadh has called for urgent UN Security Council intervention, while the UAE urged maximum restraint. Kuwait and Jordan warned the strikes threaten Middle East stability. All four nations demand immediate global action to prevent the outbreak of a larger regional war, as fears of a wider Islamic world backlash begin to grow.
