Gareth Southgate has resigned as manager of the England men’s national football team after almost eight years at the helm. It comes just two days after England’s defeat to Spain in the final of Euro 2024. Despite that disappointment, Southgate has taken the Three Lions to two European Championship finals and a World Cup semi-final during his time in charge. Prince William, President of the Football Association (FA), tweeted his thanks to Southgate for his leadership. A man has appeared in court charged with two counts of murder after the discovery of human remains in suitcases in Bristol, and, at a flat in west London. 34-year-old Yostin Andres Mosquera appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates Court earlier today. Police have named the two victims as 62-year-old Albert Alfonso and 71 year old Paul Longworth who lived together at a flat in Shepherds Bush. The suspect had been staying with them.
