Sir Keir Starmer has insisted Labour is being “straight” with voters, as the party faced criticism over the decision to ditch a key pledge to spend £28 billion a year on green projects.

“Every family knows that they’ve had to adjust their plans.

We’ve now had to adjust our plans,” he said during a visit with Rachel Reeves to an advanced manufacturing research facility in the West Midlands.
