Donald Trump Appeals $464 Million Judgment in NY Civil Fraud Case

Donald Trump Appeals $464 Million Judgment , in NY Civil Fraud Case.

Lawyers for Trump announced Monday that the former president and his company will appeal the judgment handed down last week, NBC News reports.

The judgment found that Trump, his company, including sons Eric and Donald, lied for years about his wealth to grow his real estate empire.

.

Other penalties from Judge Arthur Engoron include barring Trump from doing any business in New York for three years.

.

We trust that the Appellate Division will overturn this egregious fine and take the necessary steps to restore the public faith in New York’s legal system, Trump attorney Alina Habba, via NBC News .

The order was ruled after a long trial from NY Attorney General Letitia James’ case that Trump and his company committed fraud for years... … by lying about their wealth on financial documents to receive better rates on bank loans and insurance policies.

.

Trump said the judge's decision was “election interference” and “weaponization against a political opponent.”.

He also claimed he was being punished for “having built a perfect company, great cash, great buildings, great everything.”
