Among the ruins of their homes in northern Gaza, where basic amenities are scarce, hundreds of thousands face the looming threat of famine.
The injured were swiftly transported to Gaza City's al-Shifa hospital for urgent medical attention.
In a chilling propaganda display, Hamas handed released hostages bizarre “gift bags” featuring photos of their captivity, a commemorative Gaza photo, and gold-gilded “certificates of release.” The released hostages, Romi Gonen, Emily Damari, and Doron Steinbrecher, described the gesture as a “cynical game” aimed at psychological manipulation. Video footage shared by Hamas shows the hostages being escorted through Gaza City by a motorcade of armed, masked terrorists, with crowds mobbing the vehicles.
