Sir Keir Starmer urged Vladimir Putin to "get out of Ukraine" as he addressed the G20 summit in Rio, Brazil, on Tuesday. It comes as Mr Starmer has refused to comment on whether Britain will allow Ukraine to fire Storm Shadow missiles into Russia following reports that Joe Biden is on the verge of giving the green light for the British-made weapons to be used.

Thousands of farmers descended on Westminster on Tuesday to protest against the inheritance tax changes for farming businesses introduced in last month’s Budget. The changes mean inheritance tax of 20% will apply to combined agricultural and business property worth more than £1 million. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has announced additional funding to the police force, as she set out plans to overhaul the work of forces in England and Wales. In a speech on Tuesday, Ms Cooper said "direct central government funding" for policing will increase by over half a billion pounds by next year.
