NBC reports that the United States is facing
a slew of weather-related risks on March 13.
A major snowstorm is forming over the Rockies and severe
thunderstorms are taking shape across the Plains, while Texas
and Oklahoma are facing an extreme risk of wildfires.

Denver through midday before plummeting
temperatures bring snow in the early evening.
Heavy snow with wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour
are expected to last through the morning of March 15 and
make travel across the I-25 corridor nearly impossible.
Meanwhile, four million people across Kansas,
Missouri and Nebraska are facing the risk of severe
storms, including large hail and isolated tornadoes.
On March 14, the storm is expected to
shift east, threatening 21 million people from
northern Illinois down to northeast Texas.
At the same time, the southern Plains
are facing an increased risk of wildfires.
The Storm Prediction Center warned
that critical-to-extreme fire danger
could result in a 'wildfire outbreak.'.
On March 13, Amarillo, Lubbock and Roswell, New Mexico
are all under Red Flag Warnings and considered at
extreme risk due to high winds and dry conditions

were killed, and hundreds more were injured.
Approximately 200,000 people
still have no power, BBC reports. .
Kentucky had the most outages,
leaving over 80,000 homes without power.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has
declared a state of emergency, referencing the
"devastating storms that hit almost the entire state.".
Texas Governor Greg Abbott said that
over a third of the state's counties were in
a state of disaster from the extreme weather.
The National Weather Service (NWS) warns
that severe weather may continue until May 29.
Flash flooding, "significant damaging wind and
large hail" is expected throughout northern and
central Texas, as well as southern Oklahoma.

New York to Maryland, could

These disasters come as forecasters
predict an "extraordinary" Atlantic

Cucumbers Are Recalled , in 14 States.
Fresh Start Produce Sales in Florida is
recalling cucumbers over possible salmonella contamination, 'Newsweek' reports.
The 14 states affected by the recall include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
Only large, whole cucumbers
are included in the recall.
Mini and English cucumbers
are considered safe to eat.
The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture first informed Fresh Start that its product tested positive for salmonella.
The FDA is conducting whole genome
sequencing to determine if this sample
is related to an ongoing salmonella
outbreak investigation, Via recall notice.
Fresh Start believes it recalled the product before it could make it into consumers' hands.
Although these cucumbers are
unlikely [to be found] in the
marketplace, anyone with the
recalled product should not
consume it and should destroy
and discard it or return it to the
