The bill passed on concerns that the app poses a national security threat under the ownership of Chinese technology firm ByteDance Ltd.
The House passed a stopgap funding bill to avert a government shutdown just hours before the midnight deadline. The bill extends funding through March 2025, providing disaster relief and farm aid, but excludes the debt limit suspension demanded by President-elect Trump.
