An open letter condemning Jonathan Glazer's 'Zone of Interest' Oscars acceptance speech has been signed by more than 450 Jewish Hollywood professionals.
The group denounced Glazer's controversial comments made when accepting the Academy Award for best international film.
The letter reads in part, "We refute our Jewishness being hijacked for the purpose of drawing a moral equivalence between a Nazi regime that sought to exterminate a race of people, and an Israeli nation that seeks to avert its own extermination."
Jonathan Glazer has donated several signed 'The Zone of Interest' posters to a Gaza humanitarian relief action. The filmmaker has kept a low profile since his controversial 2024 Oscars acceptance speech, but he recently resurfaced to donate seven signed posters for his Oscar-winning movie, as well as a selection of posters for his 2014 film 'Under the Skin,' to the Cinema for Gaza auction that is raising funds for the charity Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).
