Alexei Navalny: Russian court rejects Navalny mother’s case alleging improper medical care| Oneindia
A lawsuit filed by the mother of the late Russian opposition figure, Alexei Navalny, alleging inadequate medical care during his time in the Arctic penal colony where he passed away, has been dismissed.
The court in the town of Labytnangi, near the penal colony, rejected the suit, citing Navalny's absence as the plaintiff.
Ivan Zhdanov, a former aide to Navalny, expressed dismay over the decision, highlighting Navalny's history of filing lawsuits regarding medical care in prisons.
The dismissal, Zhdanov noted, comes with a tone of mockery, given Navalny's tragic demise.
"Alexei Navalny gave his life for a free and democratic Russia," EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas said on the anniversary of his death.

Trump’s proposal to purchase Greenland, emphasizing that the Arctic territory belongs to its people. Trump's plan to acquire Greenland—reigniting his 2019 suggestion—has been met with strong opposition from Greenland’s pro-independence leader, Mute Bourup Egede, who reiterated that the island’s future should be determined by Greenlanders alone. Frederiksen backed Egede's stance, asserting that while Denmark values its relationship with the U.S., Greenland's self-determination and sovereignty are non-negotiable.
