Moscow terror attack: How the world reacted to the attack in Russia concert hall | Oneindia
The terror attack at the Crocus City concert hall in Moscow's northern Krasnogorsk suburb, has claimed the lives of more than 60 people and wounded over 100.
Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the horrific attack in Russia, which involved gunfire and a grenade explosion.
This terror attack came days after Russian President Vladimir Putin cemented his grip on the country in a highly orchestrated electoral landslide.
The incident took place just before Soviet-era rock group "Picnic" was to perform at the Crocus City Hall.
Video footage of the horrific attack is being shared on social media, in which people can be seen screaming and running amok in a bid to save their lives.
In another video, flames and black smoke could be seen rising from the hall.
Several world leaders have condemned the terrible incident in Moscow.
In a national television address, the Russian leader said Moscow was conducting “combat tests” of the new missile system after Ukrainian strikes earlier this week using US and British missiles.

Ukraine escalates the conflict with a long-range missile strike against Russia’s Bryansk region, using the U.S.-supplied ATACMS missile system. The strike comes after Moscow issued a stern nuclear warning, with tensions further flaring as the missiles mark the first direct assault on Russia’s internationally recognized territory. Despite Russia’s defence systems intercepting some of the missiles, the strike caused significant damage, including a fire at a military facility. The use of ATACMS missiles, capable of reaching targets up to 300 km away, signals a new phase in Ukraine's military strategy, intensifying the conflict in the ongoing war

The US military has launched a series of airstrikes targeting sites in Syria associated with Iran-aligned groups, a day after an assault on America’s largest command centre in the region. The strikes, conducted by US Central Command, were in retaliation for recent attacks on US personnel stationed in Syria. Centcom emphasised that the action was a direct response to the escalating violence aimed at American forces, underscoring the US's commitment to protecting its troops and partners in the region.
The airstrikes, which hit multiple sites believed to be linked to Iranian-backed militias, aim to degrade the ability of these groups to plan and execute future attacks against US forces. The US military presence in Syria, primarily focused on combating ISIS remnants, has faced increasing threats from Iran-aligned militias, complicating efforts to stabilise the region. Centcom's statement reinforced that such attacks on US forces would not be tolerated, sending a strong message to Tehran-backed militants. The escalation comes amid growing tensions in Syria, where Iran-backed groups maintain a significant presence, particularly in the east.
