Moscow Attack: Russia FSB claims Concert Hall attackers had contacts in Ukraine | Oneindia
According to Russia's FSB security service, as reported by state news agencies on Saturday (Mar 23), the individuals behind the fatal assault on a Moscow concert hall had "connections" in Ukraine and were allegedly trying to flee there.
"After committing the terrorist attack, the criminals intended to cross the Russian-Ukrainian border, and had appropriate contacts on the Ukrainian side"(DISPLAY ON SCREEN) the state-run TASS news agency quoted the FSB as saying, after it announced 11 arrests over the attack.
In a high-stakes operation, Russian security services have thwarted an attempt by Ukrainian intelligence to hijack a Mi-8MTPR-1 electronic warfare helicopter. The plot was uncovered by a Russian pilot, who was offered a large bribe and a complex escape route in exchange for betraying his country. The Ukrainian agent, who went by the name 'Sergey,' also advised the pilot to poison his fellow crew members or use a weapon to ensure the success of the hijacking. The pilot, trained to recognize security threats, reported the contact to his superiors, and the situation was turned into a counter-operation by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).

Ukraine escalates the conflict with a long-range missile strike against Russia’s Bryansk region, using the U.S.-supplied ATACMS missile system. The strike comes after Moscow issued a stern nuclear warning, with tensions further flaring as the missiles mark the first direct assault on Russia’s internationally recognized territory. Despite Russia’s defence systems intercepting some of the missiles, the strike caused significant damage, including a fire at a military facility. The use of ATACMS missiles, capable of reaching targets up to 300 km away, signals a new phase in Ukraine's military strategy, intensifying the conflict in the ongoing war
