North Korea fires an intermediate-range missile into its eastern waters, South Korea says | Oneindia
South Korea's military reported that North Korea conducted a suspected intermediate-range ballistic missile test towards its eastern waters on Tuesday.
This move underscores North Korea's continued efforts to enhance its weapons capable of reaching remote U.S. destinations in the Pacific.
The missile, launched from a vicinity near Pyongyang, the North Korean capital, travelled approximately 600 kilometres (372 miles) before descending into the sea, positioned between the Korean Peninsula and Japan.
The weapons are expected to be used in response to North Korea's decision to send thousands of troops to Russia in support of Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine, according to one of the sources.
