Foreign Secretary 'confident' Rwanda bill will pass
Foreign secretary Lord Cameron said he is "confident" the Rwanda bill will be passed by parliament this week.
The legislation which is set to be passed declares Rwanda a safe country - after the Supreme Court blocked an earlier plan in November.
"If you can't send them directly back to France, the best thing to do is find another answer where people who come to Britain in that way can't stay in Britain.
That's what the Rwanda plan is all about," Mr Cameron said.

The U.S. Supreme Court has temporarily blocked the Trump administrationâs attempt to fire whistleblower chief Hampton Dellinger. The Biden appointee will remain in his post at least until Feb. 26 as legal proceedings continue. Liberal justices opposed the firing, while conservative justices dissented, arguing the court overstepped. This marks the first Supreme Court challenge to Trumpâs removals.
