Pakistan Rains: 87 killed, over 80 injured as heavy spell wreak havoc | Karachi Emergency | Oneindia
Severe rainfall in Pakistan has led to devastating consequences, as reported by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Over the past week, at least 87 individuals have tragically lost their lives, with 82 others sustaining injuries in various rain-triggered incidents.
The NDMA's data reveals that a staggering 2,715 houses have suffered partial or complete damage across the nation.
Structural collapses, lightning strikes, and flash floods have been cited as the primary causes behind the majority of the casualties.
The province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the northwest bore the brunt of the devastation, recording 36 fatalities and 53 injuries, while the eastern Punjab province also witnessed significant loss, with 25 deaths and eight injuries reported.
Melania Trump, First Lady of the United States, turned heads at Pope Francis' funeral with her distinctive mourning attire. Dressed entirely in black with a dramatic veil and gloves, her appearance captured global media attention. Compared to the understated mourning dress codes followed by others, Melania's ensemble was seen as both respectful and unusually bold. Vatican observers noted her adherence to mourning traditions while adding a flair unique to her fashion history. Her look added an unexpected style narrative to the solemn proceedings at St. Peter’s Basilica.
