The announcement by the United States that it has provided Ukraine with ATACMS long-range missiles has put spotlight on Germany’s continued refusal to send similar long-range Taurus missiles to Kyiv.
Just hours before Washington’s announcement on ATACMS delivery, German chancellor Olaf Scholz reiterated his opposition to supply Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
Scholz, however, is now facing growing heat at home and within the NATO bloc to reconsider his stand.
