'Mufasa: The Lion King:' Disney Reveals First Prequel Trailer | THR News Video
Disney has finally released the first trailer for 'Mufasa: The Lion King.'
The film, directed by Barry Jenkins, serves as both an origin story and follow-up to Jon Favreau's 2019 movie 'The Lion King' which was based on the 1994 Disney animated classic of the same name.
The new film will tell the backstory of Simba's father, Mufasa, an orphan who grew up to be a wise, powerful and compassionate ruler.
Disney has added another film to their most successful franchise, The Lion King - this time following Mufasa's journey from a cub to becoming the king of Pride.. Sky News
In this Disney classic - 'Mufasa' takes center stage. The film follows the origin story of the future king of the Pride Lands and his early relationship with Scar. The Hollywood Reporter sat down with Director Barry Jenkins alongside songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda and stars Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Tiffany Boone. Disney has pulled a transgender storyline from its upcoming Pixar animated series 'Win or Lose.' The series follows a co-ed middle school softball team named the Pickles in the week leading up to their championship game.
