'Mufasa: The Lion King:' Disney Reveals First Prequel Trailer | THR News Video
Disney has finally released the first trailer for 'Mufasa: The Lion King.'
The film, directed by Barry Jenkins, serves as both an origin story and follow-up to Jon Favreau's 2019 movie 'The Lion King' which was based on the 1994 Disney animated classic of the same name.
The new film will tell the backstory of Simba's father, Mufasa, an orphan who grew up to be a wise, powerful and compassionate ruler.
In this Disney classic - 'Mufasa' takes center stage. The film follows the origin story of the future king of the Pride Lands and his early relationship with Scar. The Hollywood Reporter sat down with Director Barry Jenkins alongside songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda and stars Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Tiffany Boone. The cast and crew talk all about their memories of the original 'Lion King,' working with Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Carter and the film's tribute to the legendary James Earl Jones.

The first trailer for 'Daredevil: Born Again' is here.
