'Mufasa: The Lion King:' Disney Reveals First Prequel Trailer | THR News Video
Disney has finally released the first trailer for 'Mufasa: The Lion King.'
The film, directed by Barry Jenkins, serves as both an origin story and follow-up to Jon Favreau's 2019 movie 'The Lion King' which was based on the 1994 Disney animated classic of the same name.
The new film will tell the backstory of Simba's father, Mufasa, an orphan who grew up to be a wise, powerful and compassionate ruler.

Ryan Coogler is reflecting on his time working with the late Chadwick Boseman and looking back at how committed the Boseman was to the role of 'Black Panther.' The 'Black Panther' director, who recently helmed Sinners starring Michael B. Jordan, made a recent appearance on 'The Breakfast Club,' where he was asked, "What did Chadwick Boseman bring out of you that Michael B. Jordan doesn't?"

This news comes about a month after the sitcom concluded its 21-episode first season. Production on season two is set to begin in April in Los Angeles.

Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield are set to return for the 'Malcolm in the Middle' revival. Masterson and Berfield played Malcolm's older brothers Francis and Reese in the Fox series that ran from 2000 to 2006. They're set to join original series co-stars Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek in the four-episode revival coming to Disney+.

A 'Coco' sequel is in development at Pixar Animation Studios. Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed the news at Disney Annual Shareholder Meeting. The film is titled 'Coco 2' and is in the early stages of development. Disney says it will release the films in theaters in 2029.
