An eyewitness describes the moment a young boy was fatally stabbed in an unprovoked attack in Hainault, East London.
James Fernando, 39, described the 13-year-old victim as a “very good child” who “never put a foot wrong.” The sword-wielding suspect remains in custody after being tasered by police at the scene.

A mother who suffocated her newborn baby and left his body in woodland 25 years ago has been given a suspended prison sentence. Joanne Sharkey, 55, admitted responsibility over the death of the baby boy, who was named Callum by police investigating his death in 1998.
