The banks of Bridgewater Canal have collapsed near Little Bollington in Cheshire following heavy rain, flooding nearby fields and leaving barges stranded. A major clean-up operation is under way in parts of Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire after heavy rainfall overnight into New Year's Day.
