Shadow defence secretary John Healey has ruled out raising taxes on working people.
It comes as Rishi Sunak accused Labour of increasing taxes by £2,000 per family should they get into government.
"We will not be raising income tax or VAT or national insurance - these are the things that count most as people are trying to manage their work income and family budgets," Mr Healey said.

The policing minister has defended the government's decision to impose Inheritance Tax on farms worth over £1 million. Diana Johnson said the Labour government have had to make "difficult decisions" after inheriting a "£22 billion blackhole in the public finances" when they came to power in July. Angela Rayner has paid tribute to former deputy prime minister John Prescott following his death aged 86 following a battle with Alzheimer's. Sir Keir Starmer said the UK must "double down" it's support for Ukraine after returning from the G20 summit in Brazil. Addressing the House of Commons on Thursday, the prime minister said it "could not be more clear" that "this is a man that wants destruction, not peace".
"After 1,000 days of war, I am clear that we must double down in our support. We will not be deterred or distracted by reckless threats," he added.
