Yulia Navalnaya Collects DW's Freedom of Speech Award, Vows to Continue Anti-Corruption Efforts
Kremlin critic Yulia Navalnaya, the winner of DW's Freedom of Speech Award, has collected her prize in a special ceremony.
Speaking at the event in Berlin, Navalnaya ā who is the widow of the late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny ā said the work of their Anti-Corruption Foundation would continue despite her husband's passing.
Russia issued an arrest warrant for Yulia Navalnaya, accusing her of participating in an extremist organization. Navalnaya condemned the warrant, calling Putin a "killer and a war criminal." Following the death of her husband, Alexei Navalny, in an Arctic prison, Navalnaya vowed to continue his fight against Putinās regime and has been actively lobbying from abroad.
