Putin’s Troops Hit: Ukrainian Forces Strike Russian Troops Using U.S-Supplied HIMARS in Ukraine
In a recent development in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, Ukrainian military forces successfully targeted and neutralised Russian troops hiding in a forested area in southern Ukraine.
The attack, conducted with the aid of the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), resulted in significant losses for the Russian military.
According to reports from Kiev's military, the reconnaissance efforts of the 73rd Maritime Center of Special Forces led to the discovery of a concentration of Russian forces in the southern region.
Subsequently, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) coordinated a HIMARS strike on the location, inflicting heavy casualties on the Russian troops.
The new aid package includes weapons that will be pulled from existing US stockpiles, including air defence interceptors for National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems and munitions for HIMARS rocket systems.

U.S has authorized a $375 million aid package for Ukraine, including HIMARS rounds and various weapons. However, a classified Ukrainian assessment reportedly suggests HIMARS has been rendered "completely ineffective" by Russian jamming, sometimes missing targets by over 50 feet. This contrasts with the weapon's previous reputation and the continued US support.
