Lib Dems hope to rejoin European single market ‘one day’
Liberal Democrat deputy leader Daisy Cooper says the party has a plan to get “the UK back in the heart of Europe” and hope to rejoin the European single market “one day”.

Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey has called for quicker action on social care reforms. It comes as the Health Secretary unveiled a new independent commission on social care on Friday but proposals will not emerge until 2028. "I'm very disappointed and slightly alarmed at this long timescale. It means elderly people and disabled people won't get the care they need and their famililes will suffer too," Mr Davey said.

The government has today launched an eight-week consultation on a major reform of Britain’s railways. These measures include the creation of Great British Railways, a public sector body which will manage rail infrastructure and train operations.
