Party leader, Sir Ed Davey, spoke of his experience of caring for his mother, as he announced a £9.4 billion package for the NHS and social care in England.
Sir Keir Starmer has teased Sir Ed Davey, as the Liberal Democrat leader vies for a Christmas No1 spot with his charity single, Love Is Enough, sung with the Bath Philharmonia's Young Carers' Choir. Alternative healer, Hongchi Xiao, 61, has been jailed for 10 years at Winchester Crown Court for the manslaughter of a type 1 diabetic woman who stopped taking insulin at his slapping therapy workshop. Danielle Carr-Gomm, 71, died at Cleeve House in Seend, Wiltshire, in October 2016 while taking part in the Paida Lajin therapy event, which sees patients being slapped or slapping themselves repeatedly. 57-year-old Brian Whitelock has been jailed for life without parole for murdering his neighbour Wendy Buckney in a savage attack in her own home.
