Minute of Murder: Robert Ben Rhoades
Throughout the 1980s, long-haul trucker Robert Ben Rhoades terrorized America's highways.
Known as 'The Truck Stop Killer,' Rhoades preyed on hitchhikers and runaways, operating primarily out of his modified truck, which he had turned into a torture chamber on wheels.
In February 1990, a girl named Regina Kay Walters disappeared.
Her last moments were horrifyingly captured by Rhoades in a series of disturbing photographs.
On April 1, 1990, Rhoades was finally arrested.
An Arizona State Trooper discovered a handcuffed woman in his truck, leading to his arrest." Rhoades' truck contained chilling evidence of his crimes: fish hooks, handcuffs, and torture devices, personal belongings of victims, and his horrific photos.
He was eventually linked to as many as 50 murders across several states.
In 1994, he was convicted of the homicide of Regina Kay Walters and 2 more in 2012.
Robert Ben Rhoades is serving life without parole in Illinois, and the full extent of his crimes might never come to light.
