A catastrophic collision between a passenger train and a goods train occurred in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal on Monday morning, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and injuring at least 30 others.

The accident happened at approximately 9 am, according to the divisional railway manager of the Katihar Division of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).
