Prime minister responds to IFS analysis of manifestos
Rishi Sunak says he doesn’t agree with the Institute for Fiscal Studies' (IFS) analysis of the major parties' manifestos which accuses the Conservative and Labour manifestos of ignoring some of the "big challenges" in the economy.
The prime minister insists the Tory manifesto is “fully costed” and cites future savings to the welfare budget which has “been growing at unsustainable levels since the pandemic”.
