A Look Back at Taylor Swift’s Exes Through Her Music
Here's a look back at the past relationships Taylor Swift has mentioned in her music, some wholesome, others not so much.
In 2008, Swift allegedly sang about ex Joe Jonas in “Forever and Always,” with the line, “Did I say something way too honest / Made you run and hide like a scared little boy?” After her breakup with Taylor Lautner in 2009, she wrote “Back to December,” missing the ‘Twilight’ star, singing, “I miss your tanned skin, your sweet smile / So good to me, so right / And how you held me in your arms that September night.” Swift’s 2012 track “All Too Well” from the ‘Red’ album references another past love, Jake Gyllenhaal, with lyrics like, “We're singing in the car, getting lost upstate / Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place.” The song even made Gyllenhaal nostalgic, as Swift shared in a 2013 New York Magazine interview that he said listening to the album was “a really bittersweet experience... like going through a photo album.”
