Four people were wounded, including two seriously, in a series of Hezbollah rocket and missile attacks on northern Israel on Sunday, military and medical officials reported. An American civilian was among those seriously injured. In the first attack on Sunday morning, an Israeli man was seriously wounded after Hezbollah launched a rare barrage of around 20 rockets from Lebanon targeting the Lower Galilee.

Over 60 rockets were launched from Lebanon at the Mount Meron area in northern Israel a short while ago, according to initial IDF assessments. There are no reports of injuries in the attack. A man was badly injured in an earlier barrage. Footage shows the Iron Dome shooting down some of the rockets, while others strike the mountain, atop which sits a sensitive Israeli air traffic control base. Incoming rocket sirens are sounding in the Mount Meron area in northern Israel, amid what appears to be another attack by Hezbollah from Lebanon today. The alerts are activated in several towns surrounding the mountain, including Beit Jann.

Keir Starmer, the UK’s newly elected prime minister, tells Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a call this morning that he looks forward to “further deepening the close relationship between the two countries,” according to the British readout. Starmer stresses the “clear and urgent need for a ceasefire” in Gaza, as well as a return of hostages and increase in humanitarian aid reaching Gazans. The British premier says it is important “to ensure the long-term conditions for a two-state solution were in place, including ensuring the Palestinian Authority had the financial means to operate effectively.”
