Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Monday that it thwarted Ukraine’s alleged plot to hijack a missile-equipped strategic bomber, the Tu-22M3.

The FSB claimed to have obtained critical intelligence aiding Russian military actions against Ukrainian targets.

Reportedly, Ukrainian agents offered an undisclosed Russian pilot monetary compensation and the promise of Italian citizenship to facilitate the bomber’s transport to Ukraine.
