Ihor Kolodka was in the middle of surgery on a five-month-old infant at Okhmatdyt children's hospital in central Kyiv on Monday (July 10) when an explosion sent medics flying across the room.

With shards of glass in his face, he and his team saved the baby first before helping others at the hospital.
