Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky attended a meeting of the UK Cabinet on Friday as he became the first official visitor to Downing Street under Sir Keir Starmer’s premiership.
Mr Zelensky briefed ministers about the situation in Ukraine and the need to expand Europe’s industrial defence base.

Defence minister Luke Pollard has hailed Volodymyr Zelensky's bilat meeting with Sir Keir Starmer, saying it reaffirms the UK's support for Ukraine. "We'll be signing a new defence treaty with Ukraine today that will speed up the flow of ammunitions and armaments going to the frontline in Ukraine," he said.
