Israel prefers to avoid 'wider war' but 'prepared for any scenario', says army
"While we prefer to resolve hostilities without a wider war, the IDF is fully prepared for any scenario," says Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, Israeli army spokesman, after an Israeli strike in the area of Beirut.
Israel says the target of the strike was Hezbollah military commander Fuad Shukur.
