The first batch of US-made F-16 fighter jets has arrived in Ukraine, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday. The number of warplanes is “small,” sources told the outlet on condition of anonymity. Kiev has yet to comment on the reported delivery. The origin of the aircraft is not yet clear. Last year, a group of NATO states, including Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, and Sweden, formed the so-called ‘F-16 coalition’. Greece, the US, Bulgaria, and France later joined.

Russia has launched extensive naval exercises involving the Northern, Pacific, Baltic, and Caspian fleets, with 20,000 servicemen and 300 vessels participating. Notably absent is the Black Sea Fleet, which has suffered significant losses from Ukrainian attacks. The drills, featuring over 300 combat exercises, aim to test military readiness at all levels. This follows Putin's Navy Day parade appearance, where he threatened to restart intermediate-range nuclear weapons production if the U.S. deploys missiles in Europe, highlighting ongoing tensions in the region.
