Cass Report: New children's gender services to be rolled out
Professor Stephen Powis has announced a rollout of new centres providing gender services for children which will follow a 'hollistic model of care'.
A long-awaited independent review of these services by Dr Hilary Cass reported young people had been let down by a “toxic” public discourse around gender.

NHS medical director Professor Sir Stephen Powis has warned that the NHS will be under extra pressure and face disruption as junior doctors walk out for further industrial action tomorrow from 9am. Emergency and urgent care will be prioritised but many appointments and procedures may be postponed.

The government has announced it will push ahead with compensation payments to infected blood victims. Speaking about the scheme, minister Nick Thomas-Symonds said: "For affected people, I expect those payments to start in 2025."

Chief Secretary to the Treasury Darren Jones insists a new pay offer to train drivers is a "good deal for the taxpayer" because it will end strikes, amid opposition claims it will result in higher fares or tax hikes.
