In a dramatic session of the Rajya Sabha on Friday, Vice President and Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar found himself in a heated exchange with Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan amid widespread commotion in the Upper House.
The uproar, which saw opposition MPs clashing with the Chairman, escalated when Dhankhar accused the opposition members of disrespecting the Constitution and democracy.
Amid the tension, Dhankhar addressed Jaya Bachchan, calling her by her full name, Jaya Amitabh Bachchan, and urged her to speak, further intensifying the charged atmosphere of the session.
Reacting to the CAG report on the money spent on renovating the Delhi chief minister's residence,' AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Monday said BJP speaking about corruption was like 'Osama Bin Laden preaching non-violence.'
Singh was responding to BJP questioning Arvind Kejriwal on the source of funds used for the renovation. BJP has termed the CM's residence as Kejriwal's 'Sheeshmahal.'
