A Facebook user who encouraged people to attack a hotel housing asylum seekers has become the first person to be jailed for stirring up racial hatred following widespread disorder across the country.
Jordan Parlour, 28, admitted posting on the social media platform between August 1 and August 5 urging others to target the building in Leeds, which at the time was housing more than 200 asylum seekers and refugees.

57-year-old Brian Whitelock has been jailed for life without parole for murdering his neighbour Wendy Buckney in a savage attack in her own home. Alternative healer, Hongchi Xiao, 61, has been jailed for 10 years at Winchester Crown Court for the manslaughter of a type 1 diabetic woman who stopped taking insulin at his slapping therapy workshop. Former Scotland rugby union captain Stuart Hogg has been given a five-year non-harassment order at Jedburgh Sheriff Court. However, the judge has deferred sentencing of Hogg, 32, on a domestic abuse charge against his estranged wife until 9th January.
